Skongenes lighthouse

Vågsøy, Sogn og Fjordane, western Norway.

Skongenes lighthouse was built in 1870, and automated in 1985. It is one of several important aids for ships to get through the Stadt sea, probably the most treacherous waters along the entire Norwegian coast line.

It is possible to lodge there. Comes highly recommended, but make sure you bring company – it can get lonesome on your own.
