Almost as far north as you can go in Europe lies Sørøya, Norway’s fourth biggest island. Not exactly intensely inhabited, and without any natural predators, it is a great place for rain deer, hare grouse. Six friends and two huskies, we set out from Breivikbotn in the south to walk north, not knowing what to expect.
We were in for a fishing eldorado, midnight sun, plenty of wildlife, spectacular sceneries and, on one occasion, that fantastic food the cloudberry. For anyone seeking adventure, Sørøya comes highly recommended.
