Store Sandungen

The track preparation machine has left it’s mark on the ice at Sandungen, Nordmarka, north of Oslo. Very few cross-country skiers were to be found this day in January, perhaps on account of the strong winds hurling snow everywhere. To take this photo, I had to get right onto the ice, as low as possible. When getting up, I noticed that my body heat had melted some of the ice, which had then frozen again and left parts of my jacket and trousers stuck to the ice.
